Living Behind a Mask
I have to say that as this is my first time penning my experience on the internet, this can be a bit exposing for my Pluto rising soul—but I can care less at this point. At one time, I was regularly showing up on Instagram or on my podcast, Align Your Stars, plastering a forced smile as I extended my astrological insights. Believe me, it wasn't my most proud moment to keep on this facade.
Behind that smile, I was hiding a lot of pain and a glimmer of hope that somehow, someday, my life would be better. It has to, and it’s about to get real. Pluto, after all, is the agent of truth. I have no choice but to tell you my story.
At the time of filming my podcast, I always just wondered, “What if I just smile my way through to make things better?” The more I molded and shifted myself, the more constricted I felt in my body. My life crashed and burned before it even began. As I looked at the broken fragments of my life that I kept trying to paste together—my failing marriage, friendships, my well-being, my astrology practice—everything was breaking open as I took a hard look at myself and saw the cold, hard reality of how my inner star was burning out. My heart was emptied and slowly breaking the longer I stayed in my marriage. No matter what I did, I couldn’t hold on any longer. The most solid thing in my life was astrology and my strong faith in the Universe.
Astrology: The Constant in My Life
Although I was helping countless clients navigate their stars and planets, I discovered that many come to me when they feel a missing piece in their lives. Many ask, “When will Mr. or Ms. Right come into my life?” or “What can I do to make her/him love me more?” I realized then how I, too, was asking the same questions internally while I was in my marriage. You know how they say, “Those who can’t do, they teach”? I was the prime example of someone dedicated to helping others and completely buried my sorrows in my work.
You see, I am an astrologer specializing in love and self-acceptance. Love is synonymous with self-love, and there is no set timeline for when love comes to your door. The stars reveal periods when your soul is open to exploring the realms of love, but there are lessons ahead that you must master to attract THE love of your life. What if you are the love story? We have to remember our light, and to find that light is when we cross into dark night of the soul periods. It’s virtually impossible to realize our light if we don’t experience darkness. I’ve lived it and seen how much my light dimmed when I remained in my marriage. Overtime, I was fading and nearly lost myself. Losing my light wasn’t the end goal, and I knew that I deserved better. Which is why I decided to leave. Without spilling too many details about my marriage, to sum it up, it was completely unrequited. I thought he was the love of my life, but it was only an illusion from the start. In the end, I began wearing a mask painted like his, shrinking little by little. Although the end of my marriage wasn’t what I envisioned, there were moments when I realized that my past experience was a part of a greater plan. It helped me discover my light and how I can help you rediscover yourself if you find yourself in a similar situation as I was.
